Islamabad: Federal Minister for Health Syed Mustafa Kamal on Tuesday, today called on Minister for Information Technology (IT) Shiza Fatima Khawaja to discuss promotion of IT in the field of the health and mutual cooperation in length.
Syed Mustafa Kamal in view of rising population declared the telemedicine unavoidable. The Health Minister said that for provision of health facilities at the doorsteps of the people, the telemedicine is a vital means.
Kamal vowed that the government determined to bring doctors and medicine at the doorsteps of the people.
He said that masses could get consulted specialized doctors through using the modern technology.
He apprises that people approach to major hospitals owing to less number of basic health centers.
He said that out of which 70 percent are those who should visit the basic health center adding Pakistan has no any record of universal medical record of any patient.
One-patient, One-ID system is being introduced availing the the modern technology, he said.
Kamal apprised further that every patient will have one single unique ID means MR number.
Patient will be accessible at any any place and at any time through one-patient and one-ID system, he added.
The IT Minister Shiza Fatima Khawaja ensured provision of her ministry complete cooperation for promotion of IT use in the health sector.
