WEB DESK: Police in Chunian registered a case against the mother of a missing girl on Sunday, accusing her of negligence in looking after the child.
According to police, the woman contacted the emergency helpline 15 after discovering that her daughter was missing from their home in the jurisdiction of Allahabad police station.
Police immediately launched a search operation following the report. The girl was located safely within three hours in the area falling under Allahabad police station.
The station house officer (SHO) said police subsequently summoned the mother to the station and registered a case against her over alleged negligence in supervising the child.
The SHO said the action was taken after police determined that the mother had failed to exercise proper care and vigilance over her daughter.
