ISLAMABAD: District and Sessions Court has ordered the release of journalist Waheed Murad on bail.

According to the details, the hearing regarding Waheed Murad’s bail application in a case registered under the Cybercrime Act took place in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad.

Judge Abbas Shah conducted the hearing and asked the FIA if they had recovered any material related to the case.

Lawyer Iman Mazari informed the court that the post was shared by quoting the words of Akhtar Mengal.

The FIA presented before the court that the statement regarding Akhtar Mengal’s post mentioned that Baloch genocide is being committed.

After listening to the arguments from both parties, the court approved the journalist’s bail after the submission of a bond of 50,000 rupees and ordered his release.

It is noteworthy that the FIA had revealed that they had arrested journalist Waheed Murad in relation to posts concerning a banned organization.
