ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has assured that all Pakistani nationals in Syria are safe and have been advised to remain cautious amid the rapidly changing situation in the country.
In a statement released today, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch stated that Pakistan is closely monitoring the ongoing developments in Syria. She reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing position of supporting Syria’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing that there has been no shift in this stance.
The spokesperson also confirmed that Damascus Airport is currently closed, but the Pakistani Embassy in Syria is in regular contact with stranded nationals, including Zaireen (pilgrims). The Embassy continues to offer assistance and guidance as needed.
Once the airport reopens, the Embassy will work to ensure the safe return of Pakistani nationals, the spokesperson added.
