LAHORE: High Court has scheduled the petitions against the disqualification of PTI founder Imran Khan and related to the intra-party election for hearing.
A five-member bench headed by Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza of Lahore High Court will hold the hearing tomorrow (January 24).
The court has summoned the lawyers of the parties for arguments while the founder PTI has challenged the disqualification in the Lahore High Court.
In the application for disqualification, the stand was taken that the Election Commission does not have the power to disqualify, the Election Commission is not a court. Disqualification in the election is against the law and the constitution. It has been requested in the petition that the court declares the decision of the Election Commission null and void.
In the second petition of PTI, the position was taken that Tehreek-e-Insaf has conducted intra-party elections, the Election Commission is again issuing party election notices which is unconstitutional and illegal, the court should declare the Election Commission’s notices null and void.
