President Zardari, PM Shehbaz express concern over Trump event attack

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s top leadership has voiced concern over the security incident at a press dinner in Washington attended by US President Donald Trump, where gunfire caused panic among guests.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both reacted to the episode, expressing relief that Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and other attendees were reported safe after the incident.

Zardari strongly condemned the attack, calling it an unacceptable act of violence and describing it as a disturbing form of terrorism, stressing that such incidents deserved unequivocal rejection.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said he was deeply disturbed by reports of the shooting during the high-profile event. He expressed relief that no one was harmed and extended prayers and good wishes for the safety of the US president and all those present.

Both leaders highlighted concern over the situation while welcoming confirmation that the incident did not result in casualties among attendees.
