RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative Institute has appointed Princess Maha Al Saud as its new CEO. The institute, known for hosting its signature annual summit in Riyadh that attracts prominent Wall Street leaders and global investors, also organizes a series of international economic events aimed at boosting foreign investment.
In addition to leading the Riyadh summit, the organization conducts global financial forums, with the latest conference scheduled for Rome later this month. The institute’s recent activities include a high-profile event in Miami this past March, which was attended by former US President Donald Trump.
Princess Maha, who initially trained as a medical doctor, previously served as Vice President of External Relations and Advancement at Alfaisal University in Riyadh. She has represented Saudi Arabia at various international platforms, including the G20 and the Eurasian Women’s Forum.
The change in leadership follows the departure of Richard Attias, the founder and long-serving CEO of the institute. While he is no longer in the CEO role, he remains the chairman of the executive committee, according to the institute’s website.
Founded in 2019 with the Public Investment Fund Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund as a founding partner, the institute evolved from the annual Future Investment Initiative conference first held in Riyadh in 2017. Its mission is to promote economic growth and attract global investments to Saudi Arabia.
