RAWALPINDI: In the 26th match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Quetta Gladiators defeated Islamabad United by a massive margin of 109 runs.
The match was played in Rawalpindi, where Islamabad United won the toss and opted to field first.Batting first, Quetta Gladiators posted a huge total of 263 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Quetta’s batter Rilee Rossouw scored a century off just 44 balls. His explosive innings included 6 sixes and 13 fours. This was Rossouw’s third century in the PSL, making him the foreign player with the most centuries in the tournament’s history.
Additionally, Hassan Nawaz played an unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 45 balls, hitting 9 sixes and 4 fours. For Islamabad United, Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim claimed one wicket each. In response to the target of 264, Islamabad United’s innings collapsed at 154 runs in 19.3 overs.
Imad Wasim scored 56 runs, while Ben Dwarshuis contributed 31 runs and was among the few standout performers for Islamabad. From Quetta’s bowling attack, Mohammad Amir took 3 wickets, while Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf picked up 2 wickets each.
Before the match, Pakistan’s national anthem was played, and a one-minute silence was observed in honor of those martyred in the recent Indian attacks.
