Lahore: Melody Queen Noor Jahan Madam awakened the magic of her voice in more than ten thousand songs in different languages.
It’s been 24 years since ‘Malika-e-Tarannum’ Noor Jahan passed away but her legacy is proof that she may be gone but never forgotten. She ruled on film industry for more than 35 years.
The girl named Allah Wasai started her career from Calcutta at the age of Nine.
Noor Jahan was also the voice that injected spirit in the Pakistan Army and the public during the 1965 war with India.
In 1957‚ Noor Jahan was awarded with the President’s Award for her acting and singing capabilities.
She also earned Special Nigar Award, Pride of Performance, Life Time Achievement Award, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, PTV Life Time Achievement Award, and Millennium Award.
She passed away on this day in 2000 and buried in Karachi.
