WEB DESK: Meta-owned app WhatsApp is considered the largest massaging platform in the world with over 2 billion users worldwide, introduced 6 new features.

Many users often remain unaware of these changes and updates.
So, if you haven’t caught up with WhatsApp’s latest features, here’s a look at six new additions made to the Meta-owned app in recent weeks:

1. Group Chat Online Indicator

This feature was quietly rolled out by WhatsApp.
It allows users to see how many members in a group chat are currently online. The number of online members appears just below the group name, but the app does not specify exactly which contacts are online.

2. Group Chat Notification Control

Many users are part of multiple WhatsApp groups, causing their phones to constantly buzz with notifications.
Thanks to this new feature, users can now focus only on important notifications. You can use the new “Notify For” settings to customize alerts. According to WhatsApp, using the Highlightsoption allows you to limit notifications to replies to your messages, messages from saved contacts, or only messages in which you are mentioned.

3. Events in One-on-One Chats

While the “events” feature has long been available in group chats, WhatsApp now allows users to create events in one-on-one conversations as well. You can invite others, add a date and time, and even pin the event in the chat.

4. Scan Documents

WhatsApp has introduced a document scanning feature specifically for iPhone users.
Now, users don’t need third-party apps to scan documents—simply use the Scan Document option in the attachment tray.

5. Zooming in Video Calls

Also exclusive to iPhones, this feature lets users zoom in during video calls for a closer view.

6. QR Codes for Channels

WhatsApp Channel owners can now share a QR code that acts as a link to their channel, making it easier for others to join.
