IMF raises objection on subsidy over electricity bills, warns of loan program can be endanger

Islamabad: The International Monetary Fund has objected over giving subsidy on electricity bills.

The financial body has instructed to withdraw subsidy in September electricity bills. While the financial body also warned that with the incentive coming loan program can be endangered.

The IMF said that the federal and provincial government are no athorize to give subsidy.

The Finance Minister has written a letter to the provincial governments in which the ministry has urged the provincial government not to give subsidiary to the masses.

Pakistan in talks with the IMF for a loan program of seven billion dollars which is likely to be finalized next month October.
