WEB DESK: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has predicted that Russian President Vladimir Putin will die soon.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy predicted in an interview with European television in Paris that Putin’s health is deteriorating day by day and that he may soon pass away.
Zelenskyy further stated that Putin is afraid of losing his power. His comments came at a time when Russian and Ukrainian delegations had agreed on a ceasefire.
Meanwhile, the Ukraine Summit is ongoing in Paris, chaired by French President Macron, with participation from UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Poland, Ireland, Finland, the European Commission, and the President of Norway, as well as other European countries.
French President Macron has pledged 2 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine, which will include missiles, combat aircraft, and air defense equipment. Zelenskyy urged European countries and his allies to maintain pressure on Putin and not to aid Russia in breaking out of international isolation.
On the other hand, Russian President Putin, who in Zelenskyy’s view is “on the edge of the grave,” proposed that Ukraine be placed under a UN-led temporary administration to conduct new elections and bring stability to the country.
It is worth noting that Russian intelligence officers made similar claims about Putin in 2022, but nothing came of it. Thus, Zelenskyy’s assertion regarding Putin’s death may be his wish, but it remains uncertain.
