Pakistan Air Force Ranked as Seventh Most Powerful Air Force Globally.

A recent report published on globalfirepower.com has ranked the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) as the seventh most powerful air force globally, based on its aircraft inventory, which includes fighter jets, helicopters, and support aircraft.

According to the analysis, Pakistan maintains an inventory of approximately 1,434 aircraft, encompassing fighters, helicopters, and support planes. The top ten also features Egypt (1,080 aircraft), Turkey (1,069 aircraft), and France (972 aircraft).

The report underscores the shifting dynamics of aerial dominance, noting rapid technological advancements in countries like China. Conversely, nations such as Russia are facing difficulties in maintaining their aircraft fleets amid ongoing conflicts.

The United States leads as the most formidable air force worldwide, with a fleet that surpasses the combined capabilities of Russia, China, India, South Korea, and Japan.

The U.S. Air Force boasts about 5,737 helicopters, 1,854 fighter jets, and 3,722 support aircraft, supported by an annual military budget of approximately $800 billion—roughly 40% of global military expenditure.

Russia’s air force, with about one-third of the US’s air power, operates around 1,554 helicopters, 809 fighter jets, and 610 support aircraft. However, the ongoing Ukraine conflict has resulted in the loss of approximately 220 aircraft since 2022.

China, ranked third, has been heavily investing in modernizing its air force, recently adding a sixth-generation fighter jet to its fleet and advancing supersonic aircraft projects. India, South Korea, and Japan follow, with inventories of approximately 2,296, 1,576, and 1,459 aircraft respectively.
