Low-Pressure system forms over Arabian Sea

WEB DESK: A low-pressure system has formed over the Arabian Sea. It is currently located approximately 1,075 kilometers southeast of Karachi, Meteorological Department

According to the Metrological Department, the formation of a low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea. Currently situated approximately 1,075 kilometers southeast of Karachi, the system is expected to intensify into a depression within the next 36 hours.

According to officials, the system is initially predicted to move northward. At present, there is no threat to any coastal areas of Pakistan.

The Meteorological Department’s Cyclone Warning Center is closely monitoring the situation to track any further developments.

On the other hand, a severe heatwave persisted across the country, with the sun blazing fiercely in various cities. The temperature in Sib was 49°C, in Dadu it reached 48°C, and in Sukkur it touched 46°C.

Peshawar and Multan recorded 45°C, Lahore experienced 44°C, while Hyderabad and Islamabad recorded 43°C. Quetta’s temperature was 39°C, and Karachi and Gilgit measured 37°C.

It is forecasted that by May 24th, the southern regions of the country—Sindh, Southern Punjab, and Balochistan—will experience temperatures 4 to 6 degrees higher than usual.
