LAHORE: Fire breaks out on the upper floor of Services Hospital’s hostel; timely response by Rescue 1122 saves lives and minimizes damage
A fire erupted in the hostel of doctors at Services Hospital, situated in Lahore’s Shadman area, on Friday, causing panic among residents but resulting in no injuries or casualties.According to reports, the fire started in a room on the top floor of the building. Rescue 1122 teams arrived quickly and launched a rescue operation to extinguish the flames.
Rescue officials confirmed that the fire was of moderate intensity and limited to the room on the upper floor, enabling them to control it effectively.
Fortunately, no significant damage, injuries, or fatalities occurred during the incident.It is worth noting that a similar incident took place in January of last year at the nurses’ hostel of Ayub Medical Complex in Abbottabad, where a major fire trapped over 20 nurses inside the building.
Thick smoke spread throughout the premises, and rescue teams had to access the building via emergency staircases. Three firefighting vehicles were deployed to control that blaze. Authorities have emphasized the importance of strict fire safety measures in hostel facilities to prevent such incidents in the future.
