ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes targeting Beirut’s southern suburbs and southern Lebanon.
In a statement issued by the Foreign Office, Pakistan described the attacks, which occurred on the eve of Eid al-Adha, as a clear violation of international law, Lebanese sovereignty, and the ceasefire agreement reached in November 2024.The Foreign Office spokesperson emphasized that such reckless use of force endangers civilian lives, exacerbates regional instability, and hampers ongoing peace efforts. Pakistan expressed its solidarity with the people and government of Lebanon during this challenging time.“We call upon the international community, including the United Nations and mediators involved in the ceasefire process, to take urgent action to hold the Israeli forces accountable and to prevent further escalation,” the spokesperson stated.
Pakistan reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to peace, justice, and adherence to international law, urging all parties to exercise restraint and work towards a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
