Pakistan army to retain strategic superiority amid shifting warfare trends: COAS Munir

RAWALPINDI: During a visit to Multan Garrison, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to maintaining a decisive advantage in the face of evolving warfare dynamics. His remarks came during a detailed operational review, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

Upon arrival at Corps Headquarters, Field Marshal Munir was welcomed by the Corps Commander Multan. He was briefed comprehensively on the formation’s operational readiness and ongoing training initiatives aimed at adapting to modern combat scenarios.

Praising the professionalism and preparedness of the troops, the COAS expressed strong confidence in the formation’s strategic capabilities. He commended the high standards achieved through rigorous training and operational focus.

As part of his visit, the army chief also engaged with academics and civil society representatives in an interactive session, where he highlighted the significance of national cohesion in countering hybrid warfare. Field Marshal Munir emphasized the need for civil-military harmony and a unified national response to contemporary security challenges.

“In today’s era of hybrid warfare, collective national resolve and unity are vital to defending the country’s sovereignty and interests,” he stated, underscoring a whole-of-nation approach.

A key highlight of the visit was the formal induction of the cutting-edge Z-10ME attack helicopters into Pakistan Army Aviation. The COAS presided over the ceremony, marking a significant enhancement in the Army’s aerial combat and precision strike capabilities.

The Z-10ME—an advanced, all-weather attack platform—is equipped with next-generation radar technology and electronic warfare systems. It is designed for high-performance operations under varied combat conditions, both during day and night.
