4th death anniversary of legendary comedian Umer Sharif being observed today

The fourth death anniversary of legendary comedian, actor, writer, director, and host Umer Sharif is being observed today.

Umer Sharif’s unique talent and versatile performances made a lasting impact on Pakistan’s entertainment industry. In recognition of his contributions, he received National Awards for Best Director and Best Actor in 1992. He also became the only actor to win four Nigar Awards in a single year and secured three Graduate Awards. For his services, the Government of Pakistan honored him with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
Sharif rose to fame with iconic comedy stage plays such as “Bakra Qistoon Pe” and “Buddha Ghar Pe Hai,” which became milestones in Pakistan’s theatre and comedy history. Umer Sharif passed away in Germany on October 2, 2021, after a prolonged illness, leaving behind an enduring legacy in Pakistani entertainment.
