ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released an updated schedule for by-elections in constituencies where voting was previously delayed due to flooding caused by heavy rains and water discharge from India.
As stated in the notification, the by-elections will occur in five constituencies from Faisalabad and Sahiwal: NA-96, NA-104, NA-143, PP-98, and PP-203.
Candidates have until October 24 to file appeals against decisions made by the Returning Officers, with the Appellate Tribunal required to resolve these appeals by October 31.
The updated list of candidates will be made public on November 1, with November 3 as the deadline for the withdrawal of nominations. Election symbols will be assigned on November 4, and polling is scheduled for November 23.
The schedule, issued under the Election Act of 2017, comes with instructions for all candidates and political parties to strictly comply with the outlined code of conduct.
