Spin storm in Dhaka, WI bowl full 50 overs of spin in historic feat.

WEB DESK: The West Indies made history in men’s One-Day International cricket by becoming the first team to bowl all 50 overs using only spin during their match against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

This remarkable achievement occurred at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, where the West Indies relied exclusively on spin bowlers throughout the innings, a first in ODI cricket history.

Bangladesh managed to score 213 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their 50 overs. The West Indies deployed five spinners, a strategic move tailored to exploit conditions that favored slow bowling.

Previously, the record for the most spin overs in a men’s ODI stood at 44. This was achieved by Sri Lanka in matches against the West Indies in 1996, New Zealand in 1998, and Australia in 2004.
