Rizwan refuse to sign central contract, makes “certain demands’

ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Rizwan, the former Pakistan limited-overs captain, has not yet signed the central contract offered by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), according to sources familiar with the matter. The wicketkeeper-batsman has reportedly put forward some demands, which the PCB has not yet accepted.

Rizwan, who was replaced as ODI captain by Shaheen Afridi, was among 30 Pakistan players who received central contracts for the upcoming 2025–26 international season, spanning from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. He was assigned to the B category, along with nine other players including Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Shaheen Afridi.

Interestingly, no players have been placed in the A category for this period. He was also part of the Test team that withdrew from a two-match series, which ended in a 1-1 draw, with Rizwan scoring 126 runs across four innings at an average of 31.5.
