Pakistani Wrestler Hasan Ali moves into asian youth games 2025 quarter-finals

MANAMA: Pakistan’s rising wrestling star, Hasan Ali, made a strong start to his campaign at the Asian Youth Games 2025 by defeating Jordan’s Marafi Abdul Rahman with a score of 6-4 in his opening match, securing his spot in the quarter-finals of the 71kg weight class.

He is now set to face Bazaarzada from Tajikistan in his upcoming quarter-final bout, which is scheduled to take place within the next half-hour.

The talented athlete is part of Pakistan’s small but dedicated two-member wrestling team competing at the continental event. His teammate, Muhammad Abdullah (65kg), will compete on October 29 against S. Aliyev of Azerbaijan.

All freestyle wrestling matches are being held at 12:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time, with beach wrestling events scheduled for October 30, where additional Pakistani wrestlers will showcase their skills.Leading up to the Games, the Pakistan Wrestling Federation (PWF) conducted a two-month intensive training camp in Gujranwala, where the wrestlers trained under the guidance of coach and Secretary General Inam Butt.

Inam Butt expressed confidence in the potential of his young athletes, stating, “Our wrestlers are well-prepared and motivated to perform at their best today. Insha’Allah, they will bring home medals and make Pakistan proud.”Pakistan has sent a contingent of 53 athletes to participate in the Asian Youth Games 2025, hosted in Bahrain from October 22 to 31. The country has already earned a bronze medal in boys’ kabaddi, contributing to its medal tally.

This edition marks the third installment of the Asian Youth Games, bringing together promising young athletes from across Asia to compete across various sporting disciplines.
