President Zardari urges nation to uphold Iqbal’s vision for a prosperous Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has called on the nation to renew its dedication to the teachings and vision of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, emphasizing that his ideals remain vital for building a peaceful and progressive Pakistan.

In a message marking Iqbal Day on November 9, the president highlighted that paying homage to the Poet of the East should also serve as a reminder to translate his philosophy into national action.

“As we commemorate the birth anniversary of Allama Iqbal, we must reaffirm our resolve to follow his guiding principles and work together for a prosperous, united, and forward-looking Pakistan,” he said.

President Zardari noted that Iqbal’s philosophy awakened the Muslims of the Subcontinent to their identity and political destiny, paving the way for the creation of Pakistan. Referring to Iqbal’s famous 1930 address to the All-India Muslim League, he said it laid the intellectual foundation for a separate homeland.

He further observed that Iqbal’s works  including Asrar-e-Khudi, Rumuz-e-Bekhudi, and Bang-e-Dara  continue to inspire people through their exploration of faith, selfhood, and freedom.

“Iqbal’s vision of self-reliance, unity, and justice should continue to guide our nation’s journey towards development,” he added.

The president concluded his message by praying that Iqbal’s wisdom and ideals keep illuminating Pakistan’s path and inspire future generations to serve the country with dedication and integrity.
