Pakistan’s economy is heading in the right direction, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh

ISLAMABAD: Minister for the Board of Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, expressed optimism about Pakistan’s economic progress, stating that the country’s economy is moving in the right direction with numerous companies showing keen interest in making significant investments across diverse sectors.

During a media briefing in Islamabad, he underscored that foreign rating agencies have upgraded Pakistan’s ratings, calling it a noteworthy achievement for the current administration.

The Federal Minister emphasized the government’s commitment to boosting the export sector, describing export-driven growth as the most sustainable path for the nation’s economic development.

He further noted that investment in Pakistan’s mineral sector represents a crucial milestone. He highlighted the special attention being given by the United States and China toward this sector, particularly due to its wealth of rare minerals.

Additionally, the Minister elaborated on the government’s initiatives aimed at improving the ease of doing business. He outlined various incentives offered to foreign investors and companies, including tax exemptions for setting up new industries and importing machinery.
