LUCKY MARWAT: A suicide attack on a police mobile resulted in the martyrdom of one police officer and injuries to six others.
According to the District Police Officer (DPO), there were seven police personnel aboard the vehicle. The police had already traced the suicide bomber near Bakhmal Ahmad Zai. The police successfully led the motorcycle-riding attackers to the kacha road.
The DPO stated that the attackers opened fire on the police officers, and in response, one of the suicide bombers detonated himself, causing an explosion. The other attacker managed to flee towards a nearby residential area, and search operations are ongoing.
The DPO further reported that Head Constable Alaudin was killed instantly in the blast, while six injured officers were shifted to Tajuori Hospital for treatment.
According to police sources, a jirga of the Betni National Movement was underway in Lucky Marwat at the time. Despite the attack, police personnel sacrificed their lives to protect the area from destruction.
