PPP leader SLAMS Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar

WEB DESK: Ranveer Singh’s recent spy thriller, Dhurandhar, continues to break several Box Office records. Amid its soaring success, the film has sparked a political controversy as a senior representative of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) accused it of unlawfully using photographs of Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The PPP has issued strong condemnation against Dhurandhar for allegedly misusing images of Benazir Bhutto in a way that portrays the party as sympathetic to terrorism.

Sumeta Afzal Syed, spokesperson for the PPP and a member of the Sindh Task Force, stated that the film has improperly included visuals of Bhutto and misrepresented the party’s stance.

She asserted that the PPP has consistently stood against extremism and criticized this depiction as a deliberate distortion of Bhutto’s legacy.

Syed further highlighted that the PPP has often been targeted by terrorism and remains committed to combating extremism, reinforcing its position as an unwavering force against such threats.

She called for immediate action from the government to address what she described as an attempt to tarnish Bhutto’s reputation and undermine an internationally regarded democratic figure.

Known for its focus on the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, Dhurandhar is directed by Aditya Dhar and features Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna.

Despite its financial triumph, the film has faced criticism for allegedly exaggerating Pakistan’s internal challenges and political landscape.
