Six Pakistanis detained in Saudi Arabia for possession of 71 Kg of drugs

RIYADH: Authorities in Saudi Arabia have arrested six Pakistani nationals for their involvement in receiving a substantial quantity of narcotics, totaling 71 kilograms.

Talal Al-Shalhoub, spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Interior, stated that the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC), working alongside the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, successfully detained the suspects in the Riyadh area. They were found in possession of methamphetamine weighing 71 kilograms.

In addition, Al-Shalhoub disclosed that intelligence sharing between the GDNC and Omani officials led to the disruption of two separate drug smuggling attempts, which resulted in the confiscation of more than 200 kilograms of illegal substances.

The security official reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s firm stance against drug-related crimes, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to protect national security and youth from such threats. He assured that all efforts will be made to prevent such activities and to hold those responsible accountable under the law.
