ISLAMABAD: IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva praised Pakistan’s economic reform efforts during a meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The prime minister shared updates on Pakistan’s macroeconomic improvements, stabilization measures, and institutional reforms. He emphasized the country’s dedication to fiscal discipline, revenue growth, and sustainable development. Georgieva acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts toward economic stability.
Earlier, PM Shehbaz arrived in Switzerland for the WEF, welcomed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative Muhammad Bilal and Ambassador to Switzerland. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Ministers Ahad Khan Cheema, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi.
