QUETTA: First winter snowfall has caused a sharp drop in temperatures across Quetta and northern Balochistan, with ongoing snowfall in Chaman and nearby areas.
Snow is falling in locations such as Khojak Top, Khwaja Imran, Toba Achakzai, Qila Abdullah, Gulistan, Jangal Pir Alizai, Shela Bagh, and Mezai Adda. Chaman’s temperature has fallen below freezing, hitting minus 1°C, while Khojak Top and Khwaja Imran recorded minus 3°C. Toba Achakzai experienced the lowest at minus 4°C.
Significant snow accumulations include 1.5 feet in Toba Achakzai, 1 foot in Khojak Top, and 10 inches in Chaman. In Qila Saifullah and surrounding areas, rain has worsened the cold, along with intermittent snowfall in Kan Mehtarzai and Muslim Bagh. The weather office expects rain and snowfall in Qila Saifullah to persist until evening.
Mastung saw its first snowfall of the season, blanketing the city in white and making conditions colder. Rain in Kharan, Panjgur, and nearby regions has further dropped the temperatures.
