Babar Azam ends BBL 15 stint with the Sixers to join Pakistan’s team camp

WEB DESK: Pakistan star Babar Azam has concluded his Big Bash League (BBL) stint early to join the national team for the Australia series.

The Sydney Sixers confirmed his unavailability for the remaining matches, including the Challenger and final. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recalled him for national duties, ending his involvement in the tournament.

Babar expressed gratitude to the Sydney Sixers, thanking coaches, teammates, and fans for their support during his time in Australia. He also wished the team success in the upcoming games.

In his 11-match run with the Sixers, Babar scored 202 runs, featuring 19 fours and 3 sixes. His exit marks the departure of all Pakistani players from this BBL season.

The Sydney Sixers now prepare for the Challenger match against the Hobart Hurricanes, aiming for a spot in the final against the Perth Scorchers. Babar’s return highlights the priority of international commitments as Pakistan looks to enhance their preparations for the Australia series.
