RAJANPUR: In a significant development, authorities in Rajanpur reported that 79 more wanted criminals have surrendered during an ongoing police crackdown in the Thar Desert region.

The Punjab police, engaged in the operation, stated that the fear of confrontation and possible fatal consequences compelled many notorious gangs to lay down their arms and surrender. 

With these latest surrenders, the total number of criminals who have surrendered to law enforcement now reaches 176. Officials revealed that among the surrendering individuals is the infamous Mujib, who carries a bounty of 10 million rupees. Also turning themselves in are Mataara Sukhani, with a reward of 5 million rupees, and Nawan Sukhani, with a bounty of 2.5 Million rupees.

The police added that to date, five individuals with a one-crore-rupee bounty each have surrendered in Rajanpur. These suspects were wanted for a range of serious crimes, including kidnapping for ransom, murder, and dacoity.

During the operation, law enforcement agencies also dismantled 27 hideouts and bunkers used by the criminals to evade arrest.
