PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for what he described as anti-state rhetoric, questioning the purpose behind the party’s repeated formation of certain forces and highlighting controversial statements made by the party founder’s son against Pakistan.
Addressing the ongoing internal divisions within PTI, the Governor said the party appears “confused” and accused its leaders of labeling the very state that recognized them as a “killer state.” He warned that any future attempts to march toward Islamabad would not be tolerated.
Faisal Karim Kundi urged PTI leaders to “move beyond Swabi” to understand the current situation more clearly. He emphasized that Pakistan is under international scrutiny, with global media highlighting the country, and praised the Field Marshal’s efforts for enhancing Pakistan’s image on the world stage.
Criticizing the provincial government, the Governor noted what he called the inactivity of the KP Chief Minister and highlighted ongoing disagreements within the provincial cabinet. He stressed that any leadership changes within the provincial government were internal PTI matters.
The Governor also alleged that local government representatives were sidelined for four years, with funds and salaries for nazims withheld. He referenced past controversies involving the Chief Minister’s family and noted that officials often leave for Islamabad and other cities on Thursdays, citing fuel-saving measures as part of austerity policies.
