KARACHI: Karachi’s Mayor Murtaza Wahab has asserted that not an inch of Hill Park’s land has been allocated to anyone. During a press conference in Karachi, Wahab stated that during Eid al-Adha, a total of 81,525 tons of waste was brought to landfills, and 88,436 tons of animal waste and garbage were properly disposed of during the cleanup campaign.
Responding to a press conference by MQM leaders, Wahab emphasized that not an inch of Hill Park’s land has been handed over. He reaffirmed that Hill Park was, is, and will remain the property of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
Mayor Karachi further added that politics centered around cow hides and dead bodies has harmed the city. He called for avoiding politics that divides and damages Karachi and emphasized prioritizing public interest.
Additionally, Sindh Provincial Minister Sharjeel Memon responded by stating that MQM is attempting to keep its politics alive through baseless allegations and old political narratives. He emphasized that Karachi is not the property of any single party and is the economic hub of Pakistan.
Memon also said that any legal or administrative disputes regarding public spaces or government land should be resolved through courts and relevant authorities.
