PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to request permission to meet with former Prime Minister and PTI leader Imran Khan before the upcoming provincial budget.
Addressing the media outside the IHC alongside KP Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam, Afridi emphasized that a meeting with Imran Khan was crucial as the provincial budget had already been finalized and awaited his approval. He highlighted that Imran Khan remains the elected representative of the people of KP, making consultation with him an essential step in the process.
Afridi also accused the federal government of neglecting KP’s rightful share of resources, alleging that the province was being unfairly penalized for its support to Imran Khan and PTI. He criticized federal development allocations, asserting that KP had been overlooked in previous budgets and development initiatives.
The KP CM announced that PTI plans to hold a protest outside Parliament during the upcoming budget session, which is scheduled for June 10. He reaffirmed his authority as chief minister to make decisions on behalf of the provincial government, asserting that his actions are in the best interest of KP.
