LAYYAH: Malik Ghulam Haider Thind, a seasoned politician and former Member of the Provincial Assembly as well as the District Nazim of Layyah, passed away after battling a long illness.
Family sources confirmed that the veteran leader had been unwell for an extended period and had been receiving treatment at a hospital. His funeral prayer was held at 6:00 pm on June 14 at Milad Ground in Layyah, with a large gathering of political figures, social leaders, religious scholars, and community members in attendance.
Ghulam Haider Thind was widely respected as a prominent political and social figure in Layyah district. Throughout his career, he remained dedicated to public service and was deeply involved in addressing local issues, earning admiration for his commitment to community welfare.
His contributions include serving as a member of the provincial assembly and later as District Nazim, where he played a pivotal role in local development initiatives and efforts to improve the lives of residents. His legacy is remembered for his unwavering engagement with the people and dedication to the progress of Layyah.
