LAHORE: Police rescued two foreign women who were allegedly being held against their will during a raid in Lahore’s Defence-C area, arresting four suspects in the operation.
The action was launched after the Punjab chief minister directed authorities to investigate a kidnapping complaint received from the Netherlands on June 15. Acting swiftly, police traced the location and recovered the women within two hours.
According to DIG Operations Lahore, the rescued women are citizens of the Netherlands and Venezuela who had travelled to Pakistan to visit friends. The case came to light after the Dutch woman’s father contacted authorities on June 15, claiming his daughter had been abducted while in Pakistan.
A case has been registered against the four arrested suspects at Defence-C Police Station. The FIR also includes allegations that the accused sexually assaulted the two foreign women.
