NEPRA increases electricity rates nationwide by 75 paise per unit

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a nationwide increase of 75 paise per unit in electricity rates.

According to the official announcement, the price hike is due to the monthly adjustment for June. This adjustment will also apply to Karachi Electric (K-Electric) consumers. The increased rates will be reflected in electricity bills for August.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs. 1.20 per unit for June’s adjustment. Prior to this, in May, the electricity rates were increased by 34 paise per unit across the country.
