LAHORE: DNA testing of the main suspects in the Hina Javed murder case has been completed at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), while the victim’s domestic worker has recorded a statement during the ongoing investigation.
DNA samples from Hina Javed’s husband, father-in-law and domestic worker Zeeshan were collected and examined in the presence of her brother, Fahad Javed.
Investigators said Zeeshan allegedly confessed to killing Hina, claiming that her husband had promised him Rs100,000 in exchange for carrying out the murder.
However, the prime suspect, Faisal Asghar, and his father have denied involvement in the killing.
Following the completion of the DNA testing process in Lahore, the Rawalpindi police team returned to continue the investigation.
Earlier, the post-mortem examination of Hina Javed, who was allegedly murdered in Rawalpindi’s Lal Kurti area, revealed multiple injuries. According to the report, her neck bone was fractured, while injuries were also found on her ribs and hip bone. Blood was also detected around her heart.
The autopsy was conducted by Dr Maria Khalid approximately 12 hours after Hina’s death, and samples were collected for forensic analysis. The report said the precise cause of death could not initially be established, with further laboratory examinations expected to determine the final cause.
Police said the post-mortem findings raised the possibility that Hina had been hanged, allegedly by her husband, though investigators are awaiting the final forensic reports before reaching a definitive conclusion.
A murder case has been registered at Civil Lines Police Station on the complaint of Hina’s brother, Fahad Javed. Police have arrested her husband and domestic worker, who were remanded into police custody for three days as the investigation continues.
