First Phase Of Local Bodies Elections In Sindh Turn Bloody As One Killed, 26 Other Injured

Hyderabad: Polling for the first phase of Local Government elections have turned bloody and marred by accusations of rigging and violence while one person killed and more than 26 people were killed in various 14 districts of Sindh.

Clashes In Sukker

Firing incident reported in an union council of Sukker, Jonas which claimed one life and three people injured while the polling staff were also made hostage, however, the area police recovered the polling staff and shifted them to protected place in armored vehicle.

Owing to the incident polling stations were shut down and candidates and voters returned back to their home.

In UC Pahnawar Dabr, a clash was reported resulted into injuries to three people where army and rangers were called.

Clashes In Jacobabad
Another clash occurred at a polling station of Kandrani in Jacobabad where six people were injured including activists of ruling PPP and JUI-F were injured.

Clashes in Sanghar

A clash broke out between activists of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and PPP at UC Kot Nawab area of Sanghar in which seven people sustained injuries.

Clash In Panu Aqil

Moreover, another bloody clash happened at Fareed Mahar polling station of Panu Aqil owing to which two activists of JUI-F were seriously injured.

Clash In Qamber

Clash also reported in Qamber polling station of Junaid Sangha where JUI-F candidate Sangah was arrested while women protested on the polling staff of depriving them of casting their votes.
