CJ SC writes letter to NA speaker excusing his absence in ceremony on golden jubilee celebrations of constitution


Islamabad: Chief Justice (CJ) Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) has said that he could not attend the 50th birthday of the constitution of Pakistan owing to his judicial engagements.

The CJ SC has written a letter to speaker National Assembly (NA) Raja Pervez Ashraf over the golden jubilee celebration of the constitution of Pakistan.

The CJ said that taking part in the golden jubilee celebrations would have been a matter of pride while he excused from the NA speaker over not attending the NA session over the golden jubilee celebration of the constitution of Pakistan owing to his judicial engagements.

The honorable Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandiyal in his letter said that the constitution of Pakistan gives an authority to parliament to enact laws for the state and assigns significant responsibilities to it.
