Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday presided apex committee meeting of special investment facilitation council (SIFC).
Military leadership including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Muneer and federal ministers were in attendance. Besides that the chief ministers of all the provinces also attended the meeting.
The meeting reviewed measures, recommendations and arrival of foreign investors in the country.
Before the meeting, the premier and Army chief one-o-one meeting was held wherein they discussed national security.
Both the PM and the COAS expressed their satisfaction over the results of operations against terrorism.
The meeting agreed to enhance activities for bringing foreign investment.
In his address to the meeting, the PM said that the PML-N led coalition government received ruined economy adding that difficult and daring decisions are bringing the country towards construction and development again.
He said that the direct foreign investment has a pivotal role for revival of the economy adding that we have major challenges are infront of us.
The premier vows that people will be given economic development and prosperity adding that the nation and country will be remained on the path of development and prosperity through continues hard work.
Through coordination process, approval of projects to be speed up, he said. The PM said that for an effective implementation a way of coordination between federal government and provinces will be adopted.
The premier also lauded the role of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Syed Asim Munir for the improvement of the economy.
