Karachi: Sindh government decided on Monday to establish a rapid response force against drug peddlers and people involved in tax theft.
The province Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon chairing the meeting in his address directed the department of excise to establish excise posts for prevention of drug peddlers.
The meeting also decided the auction of premium number plates after Eid Ul Azha. Whereas It is also decided to finalize SOPs for issuing premium number plates in the meeting.
Excise Minister Sharjeel Memon apprised that initially every category seven premium numbers plate will be auctioned.
The ceremony will be held after Eid Ul Azha for the auction while car manufacturers will also be called, the senior minister added.
The Minister apprised that there is a way of using the premium numbers plates while strict action will be taken over fixing wrong number plates.
To ease preparations of new and duplicate premium plates others measures will be taken including installing of machinery, he added.
Sharjeel Memon also directed officers of excise department to meet targets of various taxes. The Minister also has decided to end weekly offs of Saturday and Sunday for the department till achievement of the target.
It is also decided to publish advertisement for creating awareness for tax campaign , the minister said.
The meeting was attended by secretary excise Saleem Rajput, Director General DG excise Aurangzeb Panwar and others.
