Karachi: As many as 21 vice-chancellors (VCs)of government universities have penned a letter to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
The VCs of the governmental universities have written the letter after an emergency meeting in which intense concerns were expressed over stopping of a grant of the federal government to the universities.
The federal government through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) provides Rs 13 billion.
The amount has been almost freeze since 2018.
The VCs have demanded provision of Rs 16 billion for saving the universities of the province from the default.
