Karachi: Department of energy Sindh and the Go Energy signed an agreement of memorandum of understanding for 500 mw floating solar power project.
Addressing the ceremony Sindh Minister for Energy Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that this is the world biggest project adding that when the K-electric will get this electricity then people will be benefited while water wastage will decrease at large extent.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah apprised that along with the Go Energy Saudi Group Aramco is also investing in this project.
The Minister said the electricity will be provided to the K-electric through STDC while we will give advantage of being cheap electricity to the masses.
He further informed that we are going to install Solar parks and we will use solar energy in the better way.
He said that the Sindh government has given an importance to the energy projects which will announce by the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah while presenting the Sindh budget for fiscal year 2024-2025.
He said that we will also bring K-IV project with worth of Rs 5 billion.
He said that negotiations are going on with the federal government for handing over of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) and Sukkur Electric Supply Company (SEPCO) while Sindh Electric Power Regulatory Authority (SEPRA) is also being activated.
The Minister said that there are scores of complaints against the K-electric while we wanted to deliver fruits of the 18th amendments to the people.
Syed Nasir Hussain shah said that we are not giving any new project in this budget but we wanted to complete older schemes.
He said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had promised provision of 300 units of electricity free while he said that when we will make government at center we can fulfill this promise.
