Islamabad: The federal budget for the financial year 2024-2025 has been presented in the National Assembly on Friday for the approval.
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb brought the finance bill in the parliament.
The opposition parties opposed the financial bill.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif are attending the NA session while Nawaz Sharif participation in the session also expected.
The government and its allied parties have directed to ensure their participation in the NA session.
After the presentation of the budget in the NA on June 12, a debate on the budget continued for two weeks in which the government members and opposition members expressed their views on the budget.
Many allied parties of the government specially the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) expressed their reservations on the budget.
The government win over the PPP by accepting its some demands and some left to be settled later. The PPP has said that it will vote for the government support on the budget.
Two days ago, another coalition party of the government the Muttahida Quami Movement- Pakistan (MQM-P) delegation also called on Premier in the leadership of Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddique.
The MQM-P delegation comprises of Syed Mustafa Kamal and Dr Farooq Sattar apprised their concerns to the PM and demanded to decrease 18 percent GST on retailers.
They also demanded to increase budget for Karachi Package and K-IV water project.
The PM ensured the party that funding for Karachi package and K-IV will be hiked.
