ISLAMABAD: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) framed charges against Gandapur, Shah Mehmood, Shehryar Afridi, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shauzab and 9 co-accused
An anti-terrorism court has indicted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur along with 13 others in the General Headquarters (GHQ) attack case linked to the May 9 incidents.
Chief Minister Gandapur appeared in court, leading to the cancellation of his arrest warrants. Several high-profile figures, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and Shibli Faraz, also attended the hearing.
The court formally charged Gandapur and 13 co-accused, with all pleading not guilty. The case has been adjourned until December 21.
Those indicted include Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Shehryar Afridi, Colonel Shabbir Awan, Latasab Satti, Umar Tanveer Butt, Shibli Faraz, Kanwal Shauzab, Taimoor Masood, Saad Ali Khan, Sikandar Zaib, Zohaib Afridi, Fahad Masood, and Raja Nasser Mehmood.
To date, a total of 113 individuals have been charged in connection with the GHQ attack case.
