ISLAMABAD: The judge, Nasir Javed Rana, who sentenced Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in the 190 million pound case, has been transferred, now will served as District and Sessions Judge West.
The Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court ordered the transfer of the accountability court judge, and the registrar issued a notification in this regard.
According to the notification, Nasir Javed Rana, the judge of the Islamabad Accountability Court, has been transferred, and he will now serve as the District and Sessions Judge West.
Justice Azam Khan of the Islamabad High Court was previously serving as the District and Sessions Judge West. After Justice Azam Khan’s appointment to the Islamabad High Court, the position of District and Sessions Judge was left vacant, and Additional Sessions Judge Zeeba Chaudhry was temporarily appointed as the acting Sessions Judge.
It is worth noting that on January 17, after three delays, Judge Nasir Javed Rana delivered the verdict in the 190 million pound case. The court sentenced Imran Khan to 14 years in prison for corrupt practices and the misuse of authority, while Bushra Bibi was sentenced to 7 years for aiding him in the crime.
Additionally, the court imposed a fine of 1 million rupees on Imran Khan and 500,000 rupees on Bushra Bibi.
