Karachi: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved Rs 1.5 billion for carpeting of Karachi roads damaged owing to rains.
The CM chaired a meeting on review of the damage road and its repair work in Karachi while Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, provincial minister for energy and planning Nasir Hussain, minister of local bodies Saeed Ghani , Chief Secretary Sindh and other high officials were in attendance.
The CM Sindh said directed to do conduct an inquiry if newly constructed and repaired roads were damaged before time.
Syed Murad Ali Shah directed to take strict action against persons that were done faulty work on the roads.
The meeting agreed that Karachi roads in its seven district needed patchwork after rains ruined the roads.
The minister for local bodies apprised that survey is being carried for Karachi roads while it is also being known when the roads were damaged.
At the occasion, the CM Sindh instructed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to make drainage system during construction of the roads while every roads must be built with a service line .
He said that repair and construction work on flyovers and bridges should be done in all seven districts of Karachi.
He said that he wanted the best standards in construction and repair work on the roads.
Mayor Karachi apprise that there is need of Rs 1.5 billion for all the repair and construction work in Karachi to which the CM Sindh approved releasing the funds.
