Islamabad: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for resolving the canals projects with mutual understanding.
The CM Sindh talking to media after the Council of Common Interests Meeting, Murad Ali Shah said that it was a vital for whole of the country and there was irritation in Sindh.
Murad Ali Shah urged the protesting sit-inners to end their protest and open the blocked highways.
He apprised that his government and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) contacted to the PM and later he and provincial irrigation minister called on the PM on April 25.
Now he said that the Prime Minister office has issued a declaration that no any canal will be constructed without consultations while the federal government will not construct any new canal.
He further apprised that the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC ) decision of February 7 regarding construction of the new canals on the Indus rivers has been withdrawn in the CCI meeting.
He said that we believed that how such a project can be built.
The CM Sindh also thanked his party chairman Bilawal Bhutto for his efforts against the canal project.
