BANNU: A deadly shooting incident in the Shabri Bharat area of Bannu claimed the lives of four people, including a woman and her two sons, while two others were injured, police said on Thursday.
According to initial reports, the violence erupted following a domestic dispute reportedly involving women. During the exchange of gunfire, a mother, her two sons, and another individual lost their lives.
A young girl was among the two people wounded in the incident. Both injured victims were shifted to a nearby medical facility, where they are receiving treatment.
Police personnel arrived at the scene shortly after being alerted and began collecting evidence. Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident and identify those responsible.
The tragedy comes amid a series of violent incidents reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Earlier this week, three proclaimed offenders were killed during a police operation in the Gudduabad area of Swabi.
In another incident earlier this year, a dispute among children escalated into a deadly clash in Swat’s Shana Karpa Haji Abad locality. The confrontation left one person dead and seven others injured.
The deceased in the Swat incident was identified as Advocate Attaullah Jan, while the injured were transported to hospital for medical care.
